International Day of Peace 9/21/11

What is the International Day of Peace?

In 2002, September 21 was chosen as the permanent date for this special day. The UN created this day in hopes for all individuals, organizations and countries to devote themselves to peaceful actions, thoughts, prayers, and a cooperative movement toward a more peaceful way of existing.

Peacebuilding 101

Everyone, everywhere can participate in this day of peace simply by working on your own relationships, setting aside time to reflect on peaceful thoughts and goals for the future and spinning prayerful thoughts of peace the whole day through. Be creative, go all out and make International Peace day something to celebrate!

internationalpeaceday.org has posted events near you and shared ideas and examples of small and large ways to promote peace near you.

Let's Make Some Peaceful Waves this day and be the change YOU want to see!

United States Institute of Peace, founded in 1984, has made it a mission to make peaceful existence a way of thinking, living and acting. Offering a place to learn how to bring peace to our land one person at a time.

There are so many ways to take part in peaceful living and peaceful actions. The sooner we as individuals change our way of thinking and being, the sooner a global change can be imagined.

Horace Silver performing his original of the above song.

On This day at aprox 11:08pm EST Troy Anthony Davis was put to death.

people have been killing for many reasons for many years. can it be stopped?
isn’t it a part of things albeit tragic?

Separation from God makes people act foolishly.

being positive
spinning love
talking to God and about God to others

This is the way to help.

Arguing about death is trivial.
Killing is barbaric and underrated.
God is the answer.

Pass it on.
